Afghan - The Soviet Experience

Insightful & Excellent Footage
Rare western produced film on location in Afghanistan. Some very revealing interviews with Soviet soldiers. Quite a bit of interesting footage of helicopter operations and even a small bit on spetsnaz.

This little documentary is probably worth a look especially if you're not acquainted with the Soviet experience in Afghanistan
There's little tidbits and trinkets of information that give this documentary a little bit of meat I recommend that for anybody that seriously interested in Afghanistan before the United States involvement in that mountainous country in the middle of nowhere Johnny says when you get around to it take a look

interesting propaganda
This is an interesting documentary. It did well to establish the humanity of the average soldier in the U.S.S.R. It shows how the people of russia are decent much like us in family, loyalty, ect. Humans always veiw the population of enemy countries as evil. then its ok to kill them. I believe the core population of the old U.S.S.R. were good people. The communist government on the other hand, is a different story. the Leaders and followers of the communist govenrments through out the world have slaughter any of its population who oppose them. Hundreds of Millions of People who wanted freedom.

This movie was propaganda. They established the humanity of the soviet soldiers, which is fine, and said they could have destroyed afganistan if they wanted to, which is true. They stated around min. 35, that this film was in responce to a film that painted the soviets as monsters in afganistan. One of the soldiers even said it was a mistake for russia to go into afganistan...
