Wes Craven Presents: Dracula III-Legacy

okay
Cheesy but better than the second one. Rutger Hauer is always a great bad guy. But even he can't make it great.

Children Of The Corn: Revelation [HD]

It was an end
The people who gave this movie such bad reviews obviously didn't watch it or didn't pay attention to what they were watching. This movie with the title of Revelation was just that for the series. It is a kind of ending which explains where the "child cult" got started. Many of the kids did not have names that is true but the important ones did. This movie went a step beyond the other movies, it takes you back to where it all started and just may be the end of it all. I enjoyed this movie a lot, from the silent scenes full of suspence to the loud scenes full of screaming and children's laughter. If you aren't into this series and haven't watched them and payed attention you will find it to make no sense, but if you have then it will all make perfect sense and you will be glad you watched it.

A good sequel!
BACK OF THE BOX:
Based on the chilling story, 'Children of the Corn' by Stephen king, REVELATION is the next shocking chapter in this ever-poplar series of sspence-thrillers! When calls to her eccentric grandmonther go unanwered, Jamie Lowell is shocked to discover that her grandmother's last known adress is a condemned tenement building overrunned by ncontrolled children! But as Jamie slowly uncovers the truth behind her grandmother's mysterios dissapearance, she merely disturbs a powerful evil that now wishes to destroy Jamie as well!

When I saw this movie for $4.00 on VHS at my local thrift store, I took it home and expected the worst. I popped in the tape and was amazed. This sequel had almost nothing to do with the original, bt it was a great film! The special effects cold have been a bit better, but it is still a good movie! But only rent or buy it if you are a DIE-HARD COTC fan!

I kinda liked this one
After totally going to hell with 5 and the very slight redemption of 6 things kinda get back on track with the CotC series. That said, this film is thoroughly mediocre, but, again, after those last two flicks mediocre is looking pretty good. The plot is your standard CotC rehash, and it is way light on the gore, not that most of these films were usually very gory, but it's a more involving and generally quite nice looking film. Unlike in the previous two entries, one gets the impression that the director actually cared about the film, and tried to make it be good. This films is probably the slickest, sharpest film in the series, and it has some nice creepy looking locales and a lot of fine atmospheric lighting. Quite a bit of colored lighting too, one gets the impression that the director may be an Argento or Bava fan. (Note the pulsing green light, in particular. Very Argento-esque.) Still, after a relatively effective buildup the ending is more anemic than usual. Again,...

Children Of The Corn III: Urban Harvest

Children of the Corn in tha Hood
'Children of the Corn 3' is pretty damn entertaining. Not as good as two, but still superior to the original and well worth watching. It's certainly never effective as a straight horror movie, but it's got plenty of camp appeal and some amusing gore. This one is sorta vaguely related to the original central story, as it's about little creepy Eli and larger, normal Joshua who are adopted brothers. At the films beginning Eli murders his adopted father so they have to move in with a foster family... IN THE CITY!!!!! Eli is some sorta evil corn warlock and he starts killin' people for no particular reason and works on a scheme to feed tainted super-corn to all the world with the unwitting help of their foster father, who is some sort of corn magnate. What's worse, Eli starts preaching at the toughest Catholic school in the hood and starts converting everyone, to create a whole new pack of corn children! That all sounds pretty silly, I'm sure, and it is, but they try to take is...

Good if you like cheese
No other author in recent memory has had as much consistent success selling books as Stephen King. For roughly three decades the Maine writer churned out book after book, each one selling more and more copies. He's a world unto himself, the lucky fellow! He's so successful that he could throw out his pens, put away his typewriters, bury his word processor six feet under, never write another word in his life, and STILL have enough money to wallpaper the Great Wall of China five times over. In many respects, it's Stephen King's world and the rest of us are just living in it. But, and this is a gigantic but, an enormous number of metaphysically bad films based on his novels threaten to put a serious dent in his legacy. We all know the good ones, the ones that not only scared audiences stiff but also helped propel King's career to even greater heights. "Carrie" is probably the best example, followed by "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Dead Zone." These are wonderful, magical films that...

Best of all 6
I saw COTC 6 first, then I saw COTC 4 then I saw COTC 3 with Daniel Cerny and I found it the best cuz he was in it. He was perfect for the part and I was wondering too how old he was. I mean in 1992 Demonic Toys was released and he was in it and he was about 8 or 9. I think he's cute in my opinion and i have pictures of him all over my room. im trying to buy COTC 3 but i cant find it. If u know how old he iz please visit expage.com/danielcerny or please email me thank you. bye now.

boring...
This is probobly the 2nd to worst out of the whole 7 movies. It just aint creepy or wierd enough like "COTC 1" and "COTC 4" They have an adult co-leader and child leader that is about 12 or 13. All the rest of the kids are anywhere between 15-17 years old. This movie didnt show any of thier cult meetings and there was just too much gore in this film, which really was boring cause it was the same kids that killed. If you want to see a decent COTC movie with the kids and the gore, you need to get either "COTC 2" or "COTC 4" They have more of the little kids in it killing or doing thier cult stuff. But this movie was just not needed for the series.

Parental Rule #1: Avoid CornFields
Back to the cornfields with He Who Walks Behind the Rows for another installment of guess with adult's in trouble now. That's right, here's yet another installation in the saga of He Who Preys Upon the Young, this time showcasing the plights of a few rather unfortunate young adults as they wander into the stalking fields. It begins as two cars toting six unwary occupants near a small town where their friend, a victim of an "accidental bungee cord jumping" demise, wanted his ashes to be spread. As these city-dwellers move closer and closer to the prize, however, they blunder into the hands of some rather unfriendly youths looking for some time, and folks they don't seem to appreciate, to kill.

Its strange to say that, in watch the Children of the Corn sequels, I've found very few things captivating and yet I still harrowingly press onward. I'm not certain why that is or what the call the cornfield actually has on a soul, but I know that many of these movies, such as this one, are in...

Note to Self

In love with Christian Keyes
This movie made you wanna love again. I was really suprised that it was written by the star himself Christian Keyes. I think the chemistry between the two was cute. The storyline was nice as well. I love to see a movie where the dead beat Father and successful son end up recreating a bond that was lost in childhood years. Please go and purchase this movie. I have made this apart of my Black Film collection..

A must see!!!
This film is inspirational, uplifting, thought provoking, and hilarious! The thing that I appreciate the most is that it's not stereotypical and therefore predictable! I didn't want it to end! Furthermore, I absolutely love how you see people of color represented in such a positive light! I encourage everyone, all races, creeds, cultures, young and old, to watch this heart-warming film! Definitely want to see more movies from Christian Keyes!!!!

love love love it
i love this movie very much . christian keyes is so fine ......... love any movie or play he is in.

Dust Up

Dark Campy Humor, Great Soundtrack
For a low budget indie movie, this was a good effort by Ward Roberts and crew. Some parts were outstanding, and other parts lacking.

Outstanding:
- The main lead and villain did a superb job on their parts. Campy, yet professional.

- The Music and how it flowed with the plot was outstanding. Gotta get me some spindrift

Lacking:
- The lead lady and her man lacked feeling, and it was hard to really get into feeling emotional for their "hardships." It was a hard sell on seeing why anyone would help them out.

- The plot flow could have been better. I had trouble buying into the plot at times. Yes, it was supposed to be cheesy and campy. I just believe it could have kept my interest better.

- Some of the support actors were a little weak. I wonder if it was the characters or the expectations of the director?

Even though it was choppy, It kept my interest through the whole film. It was enjoyable for a dark humored,...

Awesome movie!
The film is a wild ride throughout. Reminds me of a Tarantino or Rodriquez movie. Lots of action and laughs throughout. Highly recommend it.

Funny and unexpected
Wow. just... wow. I really love this movie. Very funny and twisted. You really love the characters you, both the good guys and the bad guys. highly recommend if you're looking for something totally awesome.

This movie is not for young children due to violence and some gross out moments.

Ten Seconds That Shook the World

Surprisingly Accurate
I've been studying the history of the atomic bomb program and the bombing of Hiroshima for many years and have read countless books and articles on the topic. It remains one of the most controversial topics in history and shows no signs that it will become less controversial as time goes by.

This documentary, made in 1963, was impressive in regards to the detail provided as well as the accuracy of the information. There were a few instances where they used footage from other sources to help complete their story-- examples include the long shot of the "Trinity" test was actually footage of a test in the 1950's at the Nevada Test Site, though the close up was indeed actual film from the Trinity test. The explosion over Hiroshima was actually footage again from the Nevada Test Site and then, the footage of the fully grown mushroom cloud was actual footage from the "Fat Man" plutonium bomb explosion over Nagasaki. It's not clear why they chose not to use the long shot of the...

A Wedding

Black Humor at Its Best
Altman's technique of interweaving plots is perfectly suited to weddings, one-time events where participants, all with their own axes to grind, clash. Filmed in pre-politically correct 1978, this film simply gets better with age. The all-star cast is a joy, especially Lillian Gish and Mia Farrow, who plays a pubescent nymphomaniac.

Unlike Short Cuts or Ready to Wear, but like Nashville and Gosford Manor, this is an Altman film where it all comes together and works. Good stuff.

My favorite Robert Altman film . . .
It is. I could go downstairs right now and watch "A Wedding"--for the upteenth time--and enjoy it all over again. I LOVE this film--even more than Altman's masterpiece, "Nashville". I saw "A Wedding" in the theater when I was a teenager--and, of course, I adored Carol Burnett (still do), so I had to see it. And I believe it was the first Altman film I ever saw, and from that moment on, I was a devoted fan of his.

"A Wedding" has over 40 main characters and lots of plots and subplots, but in a nutshell, it's about a young couple's wedding day that brings together both their families. Ms. Burnett plays the mother of the bride, Tulip, and she's just perfect in the role, which allows her to be hysterically funny and very dramatic. The legendary Lillian Gish plays the dying matriarch who remains upstairs in her bedroom throughout the entire film as various family members pay her a visit. Mia Farrow--in one of her best roles--plays Carol's daughter (the sister of the...

So close, yet so far
Altman's follow-up to NASHVIILE (after having done THREE WOMEN in between) promised to do for the American family and the class system what NASHVILLE itself did for pop culture and democracy. The film doesn't live up to the standard of the earlier film by a long shot, and is much too wild and woolly to suit its topic. Yet it does have some great moments of redemption.

The film explores an afternoon at the home of one of the great wealthy old families in Chicago--the Sloans--as Dino Corelli (Desi Arnaz, Jr.), the grandson of the family's elderly matriarch Netty (Lillian Gish), marries "Muffin" Brenner (Amy Stryker), the brace-faced daughter of a newly wealthy Kentucky trucking company owner. The scenes near the beginning of the wedding guests frantically trying to find bathrooms in the Sloan mansion after the ceremony are as good as anything Altman's ever done. But the film loses a great deal of focus after that: it seems to be missing a center (not enough is done with...

The Runner

intense film noir
In my opinion, this was a nicely done film that pulled no punches. It showed the reality of a gamblers life, and how things don't always go smoothly, even in the movies. Ron Eldard and Courteney Cox gave great performances. Eldard played a convincing Edward, and I appreciated the emotion. Cox as Karina shows that she indeed has range as an actress. Not to give the movie away, but the delivery scene was intense, and Cox was excellent. The chemistry between the two was hot. John Goodman's performance as Deep Throat was good, but I'm not sure I was convinced that he could play someone as ruthless as the character was suppose to be. All in all, if you want to see how good an actor Ron Eldard is, or if you're wondering if Courteney Cox has range, check this movie out.

excellent
I happened across this movie the other night at my local pawnshop, and thought I would give it a try. This movie gives you a veiw of how deadly, addictive and destructive uncontrolled gambling can be. While I'm not a big John Goodman fan, I must say he played the part of "Deepthroat" exceptionally well. In fact, I don't think anyone could have played it as well as he. It was custom made just for him. Ron Eldard did great in his role as a runner and gambling addict, and he and Courtney Cox looked great together. I was disappointed that Joe Matenga's character was killed off so early. Also, Bokeem Woodbine did an excellent job as well.

Definately one to watch!
I love this movie! It was funny at the start, then kept me on the edge of my seat in the middle, and worried about how everything was gonna turn out at the end. I wasn't sure whether I wanted the baby to be a girl which would be a happy ending, or a boy which would be more interesting. I won't spoil it for you by telling you how the ending worked out.

Ron Eldard was fantastic in this movie, as were Courteney Cox and John Goodman. Eldard in particular was very believable. He and Cox seemed to have good chemistry between them, although Cox's real life husband David Arquette plays a barman.

I would recomend this movie to anyone.

Halloween H20 [HD]

Cash Grab For Echo Bridge
Attention Amazon.com customers....

1. Avoid this release like the plague. This Blu-ray Disc only has the movie and nothing else. LITERALLY! No subtitles, no trailer, no anything.

2. The picture is subpar for a high-definition transfer. Not to mention, it's not in the original aspect ratio. H20 was filmed in 2.35.1. This version's ratio was changed to 1.78.1.

3. The audio is pathetic. You don't even get surround sound. You get a pitiful DTS 2.0 Stereo track. The DVD at least offered us a 5.1 mix. I thought Blu-ray Disc was supposed to be an upgrade from DVD?

Save your money and avoid this title. Echo Bridge has a reputation for butchering films and they did themselves justice with this one. Until we as consumers stand up and quit buying this garbage of a release, they will never give us the quality that we deserve. The links below will give you a little more information concerning this release.

[...]
[...]

"H20" and its fans gets the middle finger from Echo Bridge with this ultra-lazy Blu-Ray cash-in
Certainly, after watching "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers", I had little interest in ever seeing Michael Myers again, who over the course of six films had transformed from a mysteriously eerie serial killer into a monolithic, robotic Druid(!) henchman. Amazingly, the next film in the franchise would redeem the "Halloween" name, a rarity for a sequel so late in the series. In fact, "Halloween H20" is probably the best sequel in the Halloween series (I confess to having a soft spot for "Halloween 2", but I freely admit that the film is problematic). Simply put, "H20" is the sequel fans had been waiting many years to see... even if some (like me) didn't know it.

The decision was made for "H20" to ignore the last series of sequels and act as a direct sequel to "Halloween II"; it was a wise decision, freeing the series from the various inane story lines and C-List characters that accumulatively dragged down the series over the years. Pleasingly, "H20" manages to both...

AVOID THIS RELEASE!
Echo Bridge's release of Halloween H20 is severly comprimised and should be avoided.
First, this release is not in the original aspect ratio. Originally released theatrically at 2.35:1 (per imdb), this Blu-ray includes a cropped 1.78:1 aspect ratio
Second, the only audio option is a DTS-HD 2.0 stereo mix, as opposed to the 5.1 mix included as part of the original dvd release from December 1999! Additionally, there are no subtitle options for the hearing impaired.
Lastly, there are no special features whatsoever.
So, let's see, no OAR, comprimised audio, no subs, no special features.

Remind me again why anyone would by this rush cash grab by Echo Bridge?

Hellraiser VI: Hellseeker [HD]

meh
There are much better entries in the Hellraiser series than this lackluster outing. A slightly disjointed storyline coupled with barely any screentime for Pinhead and the Cenobites. If you're a fan, you kind of have to see it, if you're new to HR, start elsewhere

It's ok
Not the best of the Hellraiser series but for any fan of the Hellraiser mythos this, like the others that follow down the line, is required to make the collection complete. I got the DVD version so I cannot attest to the quality of the Blu-ray disc. I would have hoped for some extras even on the DVD release but that hope was in vain.

Netherworld

Netherworld
I have added this movie to my ever growing collection of Out Of Print (oop) Full Moon videos. However, now the DVD has been re-released. I just watched the video yesterday. I must say, this was a very interesting picture. I think I was expecting a little more from it, but was satisfied w/ the twist at the end. very colorful. Never coming out and saying it dealt w/ Voodoo, it did use different ascepts of the religion to convey its self to the audience. A young man inherits his estranged & deceased father New Orleans Plantation. He comes to find black magic at play and his fathers dying wish to be brought back to life. A sleazy bar/brothell, people turned into birds and such are just a few of the many things that make this movie interesting and worth watching.

Diamond in the rough
Under-rated in the world of horror movies, The Netherworld is a hidden treasure! A young man inherits his estranged father's estate and discovers his father's dying wish: To be brought back to life. His desire to get to know the father he never met gets the better of him and, with the help of a mysterious woman, he goes about fulfilling the wish. However, there is an unexpected catch.... And he must decide if he's willing to pay the price. The exotic setting and hauntingly beautiful soundtrack add to the mystery and appeal of this movie. A true gem!!

None of those worlds
A movie that brings to the depths of dark imagination.David Schmoeller succeeds in showing us a fresh new idea that show the spectator how possible it is to bring new stuff to the horror genre.A must see for the fans of Charles Band's Full Moon House of terror.

Cowgirls N' Angels [HD]

Cheesy-Cute
If you're in the mood for something light and cheesy, then this might be for you. Ida is a 12 year old girl who uses the rodeo to look for the father she's never met. Along the way, she gets recruited by the Oklahoma Rodeo Sweethearts. There's some romance (Hello, Jackson Rathbone!) between one of the Sweethearts and a rodeo cowboy, there's some trick-horse riding, and there's even some country line dancing. This isn't a heavy-hitting Oscar winner, but it really is a sweet movie.

Cowgirls 'N Angels Blu-ray
I really enjoyed this movie. Angels are everywhere and ready to lend a helping hand if we just let them.

Sweet Movie
Good clean family film. Very inspiring message of hope and forgiveness. This little girl will steal your heart! I highly recommend it.
